Pip is the founder of The Wild Company and leads the firm’s strategy, partnerships, and project development.
He works with landowners to identify opportunities for Biodiversity Net Gain and natural capital projects, helping move sites from early feasibility through habitat creation and long-term management. His focus is on developing practical projects that restore nature while creating resilient, long-term income streams for landowners.
Before founding The Wild Company, Pip worked in the technology and private equity sector, including at Google. He now brings this experience to land-based environmental projects, helping design delivery models that connect landowners, developers, and ecological specialists.
At The Wild Company, Pip focuses on building long-term land partnerships and ensuring projects are delivered in a way that is both ecologically credible and commercially sustainable.
Hayley Roberts
Principal Ecologist
Ecologist specialising in habitat assessment, biodiversity metric modelling, and the ecological design of BNG projects.
Hayley Roberts is our lead ecologist specialising in botanical and habitat survey and design of schemes for creation and enhancement of a wide range of habitats.
As our Lead Ecologist, Hayley bridges the gap between detailed survey data and practical land management, designing bespoke management plans to transform ecological potential into reality.
At the Wild Company Hayley navigates the complexities of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) through a commercial lens, ensuring that ecological goals align with business objectives. By working closely with landowners and managers, she develops bespoke management plans that secure the long-term success of every project, ensuring that biodiversity gains are always integrated with the realities of practical land use.
Jack Bessell
Operations Lead
Heads strategy and project delivery at The Wild Company.
Jack’s work focuses on how Biodiversity Net Gain projects are structured and delivered in practice, from early ecological and commercial feasibility through habitat creation and long term management. He works across landowner partnerships, habitat bank development, and the operational frameworks required to manage biodiversity unit projects over multi decade timescales.
Jack’s focus is on building delivery systems that combine ecological credibility with practical land management. His role sits at the intersection of project development, commercial structuring, and operational coordination, helping ensure projects move efficiently from concept through to implementation.
Alongside his work at The Wild Company, Jack leads the development of a landscape scale restoration project in the Scottish Highlands focused on long term habitat recovery and land stewardship.
His work centres on creating projects that are ecologically robust, commercially viable, and capable of delivering meaningful habitat outcomes over the long term.
