Overview
Holtspur Farm is a legally secured The Wild Company habitat bank in the Chilterns, managed for long-term ecological delivery under a Section 106 planning obligation with Buckinghamshire Council. The Section 106 was signed on 7 April 2026, making this one of the first sites in The Wild Company's portfolio to be fully legally secured.
The site's habitat units are centred on a rare and highly sought-after combination of lowland calcareous grassland and species-rich native hedgerow with trees — both high and very high distinctiveness habitats under the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric. Lowland calcareous grassland supports a disproportionately high number of specialist invertebrates, rare plants and ground-nesting birds, making these units particularly valuable for Chilterns developments. The site also includes priority habitat ponds, adding further ecological breadth.
The Wild Company manages the full lifecycle of this site — from ecological delivery through to unit sales, developer allocation and 30 years of monitoring and stewardship. With the Section 106 signed and the HMMP approved by Buckinghamshire Council, units are available for allocation to qualifying development projects now.
