Overview
Wood Farm is a The Wild Company habitat bank in the Daventry area of West Northamptonshire, managed for long-term ecological delivery within the Northamptonshire Uplands National Character Area.
The site is currently grazing land for a small cattle herd. Following registration, management will transition to rotational conservation grazing, and a wildflower pasture establishment programme will commence — with a cut taken in July to support species-rich grassland development. Land closer to the farmhouse will be established as a mosaic landscape with rotational management, while existing ponds will be planted with native species and subject to programmed desilting assessments. The site's watercourse adds complementary riparian habitat.
On Nature has been appointed as Responsible Body for the Conservation Covenant. Due diligence has been completed and the covenant is progressing through legal finalisation.
The Wild Company manages the full end-to-end lifecycle of this site — including unit registration, developer allocation, and 30 years of ecological delivery and monitoring. Units will be available for allocation upon registration with Natural England.
